Ed Nixon

What makes Greater Media even greater? People like Ed Nixon. Ed joined WBT AM/FM as a show producer in 2005, but his eyes and ears have always been keenly in touch with all aspects related to WBT AM/FM simply because Ed cares far beyond his job description.

Recently, Ed joined the Traffic Department and navigates continuity for WBT AM/FM and WLNK-FM. During the hiatus of the production director, he has been instrumental in filling the gaps to make sure our business doesn’t miss a beat.

Of course, there’s another side to Ed: the devoted dad and husband. On most weekends Ed can be found near the dugout at the Clover Titans baseball games, watching his son strike out the opposing team. Recently the team traveled to Cooperstown, PA, to play in a tournament with 100 other teams. This was an expensive venture for the boys and their families. It’s no surprise that in his spare time Ed jumped in and headed the fundraising initiative for this trip.

Another interesting fact about Ed: He brews his own beer, mostly on Fridays and Saturdays after he has finished hunting down copy and making sure our continuity department is spot on.

Thanks for all you do, Ed.

Doc 1

Kary “Doc” Bowser started as an intern on the popular Matt & Ramona show almost 10 years ago, and is now one of the most important members of the WLNK-FM programming team.

Now a full-time producer on the show, he’s also the go-to guy for all things at the The Link.

Doc never says no when asked to chip in, and his managers and coworkers know they can depend on him to get things done.

Doc’s hard work was recognized last year when he was named Employee of the Year for Greater Media Charlotte.

Whether it’s filling in on-air, creating online content, or assisting the Program Director with various tasks, Doc proves every day why he’s a vital part of the Greater Media team.
