WCTC 1450 AM
Greater Media’s WCTC, New Brunswick (1450) returns to its roots as a talk station, now calling itself “The Voice of Central Jersey.” Of course WCTC’s been many things over its lifetime, including a part-time music station and most recently oldies. It also bred personalities such as Bruce Williams, a local mayor who became a New York talk star and then nationally-syndicated talk radio personality, and Jack Ellery. Ellery’s been associated with WCTC, on and off, since the 1960s, and he’ll do wakeups on the new-look WCTC. He’s followed by the syndicated Laura Ingraham, the local Bert Baron, the syndicated Mancow and Alan Colmes, plus play-by-play for Rutgers and local high school teams. It appears that Garden State sister station WMTR, Morristown (1250) is staying “classic oldies.” The New Jersey Board of Radio-Info.com is talking about WCTC, one of the very first stations that college friends Peter Bordes and Joe Rosenmiller acquired for their Greater Media group.
