Junior Developer / Designer – Greater Media Boston

Greater Media Boston seeks an enthusiastic and motivated Junior Developer to assist in all aspects of radio station websites and client driven microsites.  This includes design, development, and ensuring dynamic functionality with great UI in mind.

The Junior Developer is responsible for the development, implementation and support of the technical and functional infrastructure and applications for the location’s digital assets.

In collaboration with the Interactive team, marketing and sales, this position’s daily responsibilities include: graphic design, microsite creation, adding UI design and maintaining station websites.

Qualified candidates should be proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, HTML, CSS and JavaScript, and be able to work on their own AND in a team environment.  Knowledge of Visual Studio using VB.NET programming language and SQL Server a plus!

Responsibilities:

  • Achieve or exceed station budgets and forecasts
  • Effectively manage the station sales department, including inventory management, pricing and negotiations
  • Hire, train, and retain the best available sales talent
  • Develop non-traditional revenue opportunities through creative customer focused advertising programs
  • Motivate sales staff through weekly training and active involvement on sales calls
  • Report revenue forecast and station progress to the Director Of Sales on a weekly basis
  • Work well with programming, promotions department and other sales managers

Qualifications:

Continuity Director – Greater Media Boston

Greater Media Boston is looking for a Continuity Director to join our busy five radio station cluster’s Traffic Department.  The ideal candidate must work well in a team/group setting and possess and even temperament, with the ability to work with multiple personality types.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Schedule commercial copy on programming log;

Sales Promotion Project Manager – Greater Media Boston

The Sales Promotion Project Manager is responsible for executing small and large scale promotions on behalf of our sales force.  You will manage from start to finish event marketing, consumer promotions, digital promotions and more on behalf of our five (5) radio stations with the intent of creating results for our advertisers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning, managing, and coordinating  promotions through all facets of marketing,  including: idea development, securing cross promotional partners, sourcing vendors, understanding logistics, managing and executing promotions from start to finish, creating ROI recaps,  while creating profitable results for each campaign;
  • Lead in idea generation by developing best in class promotions that will garner results for our advertisers large and small;
  • Create professional looking recaps explaining all elements of the promotion focusing on results;
  • Contribute to development of our promotional sales plan and long-term strategic plan with specific focus on marketability of our promotions, strategy, and tactics;
  • Identify and bring new promotional opportunities to life;  drive the new promotional  idea development process by creating ideas and partnerships that are innovative, consumer-driven and profitable;
  • Assist in creating a minimum standards of execution and cross promotions with the idea of driving profitable results for our company and our clients;
  • Develop briefs for cross promotions or event marketing that include initial costs, ideas, executable outline and direction on design with the idea that these opportunities should be sell-able and results driven;
  • Execute event marketing promotions by becoming a brand ambassador for our clients, responsible for whatever goals our clients need… lead generation, sampling, or couponing;
  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum 2-4 years in product management experience in a marketing/promotional company;
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred;
  • Media and/or promotional agency experience preferred.

Creative Skills:

  • The ability to think out of the box when developing and executing all aspects of the promotion;
  • Resourcefulness to improvise and adapt to deal with daily challenges via creative problem solving;
  • Project management experience, including P&L/budget management.

Communication Skills:

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are required. The incumbent will work with diverse audiences, work cross-functionally for results and collaborate with external partners.  Must enthusiastically champion support for projects and ideas that are to be executed.
  • Must demonstrate strong analytic skills, strategic thinking, creative thinking, team leadership, planning, organizational, and problem solving skills.
  • PowerPoint Master (you must effectively communicate and dazzle us with your skills).
  • Entrepreneurial mind-set: creative, resourceful, risk taker, business savvy, adaptable.
  • Photoshop and HTML skills are a plus.

The Internship Programs for Greater Media Boston and Greater Media Marketing Group are non-salaried positions which are designed to give students hands-on experience. As part of the Street Team, you will work to gain exposure for the radio stations at station-produced and/or sponsored events, area concerts, sporting and cultural events and other on-site opportunities relevant to the station’s marketing and sales effort.Candidates must be detail oriented, creative and outgoing. They must have strong communications and organizational skills and must be able to represent the station(s) in a positive manner at events. Candidates should have strong people skills, web/internet knowledge, and must be able to multi-task and meet deadlines. All candidates should possess a desire to learn more about promotional/marketing strategies for radio. In order to be considered for the position, candidates must have a valid driver’s license and must be capable of loading the station vehicle in preparation for events. This position is limited to a 12 month employment period. *Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Set up, execution, and breakdown of station appearances,
  • Representation of the station in a positive manner,

Internship Program – WBOS-WBQT-WKLB-WMJX-WROR

The Internship Program for Greater Media Boston radio stations Radio 92.9 – WBOS-FM, Country 102.5WKLB-FM, Magic 106.7 – WMJX-FM, 105.7 – WROR-FM and HOT 96.9 Boston is a non-salaried position* which is designed to give students hands-on experience with the various aspects of major market radio stations.  The program is available to students, working for academic credit, who are able to work 10-15 hours per week for  approximately 10-12 weeks (or per your school’s requirements).  Interns are trained and supervised by the department manager for the particular station(s) you are assigned (i.e. Programming Promotions, IT/Engineering, Interactive, etc.).

Interns must be resourceful and willing to initiate projects.  Good communications skills and attention to detail are important.
