Accounts Receivable and Collections Coordinator - Greater Media Boston

Greater Media Boston is looking for an Accounts Receivable/Collections Coordinator to join our busy five radio station cluster’s Business Department.  The ideal candidate must work well in a team/group setting and be able to work with multiple personality types.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Interface primarily with Sales Department and Business Manager on all accounts receivable and collections activity
  • Make collection calls on past due accounts and maintain phone call history log
  • Post daily bank deposits, credit card transactions and cash receipts into Marketron Traffic/Billing System and perform associated filing of check copies
  • Perform month end close such as monthly billing re-cap reports and assist with general ledger and journal entries
  • Print and distribute Aging reports to Business, Sales Management and AE’s

Skills:

  • Strong organizational and communication skills; excellent phone manner
  • Computer knowledge and experience (Marketron and Excel preferred)
  • Ability to work well under pressure; work in a team/group setting; ability to meet demanding deadlines
  • Proactive approach to identify problems and implement effective solutions

Education/Experience: 

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a business office environment involved in accounts receivable maintenance
  • Associates degree in Accounting preferred

Greater Media Boston is seeking an innovative Website Developer / Digital Content Specialist who passionately embraces technology to deepen the user experience of our top tier media brands.  Qualified candidates must be coders first, but equally important, should possess the unique ability of understanding how to translate technical language into communication that our sales teams, clients, and marketing directors can understand.

Greater Media owns and operates five of Boston’s most powerful radio brands: ALT 92.9, HOT 96.9, Country 102.5, MAGIC 106.7 and WROR 105.7. Greater Media Boston Interactive (GMBi) is the force behind creating the digital presence for our brands and clients through web development, graphic design, video, and custom products.

OVERVIEW OF MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Overseeing technical initiatives for all digital properties under the Greater Media Boston umbrella, including the web sites and mobile apps for ALT 92.9, HOT 96.9, Country 102.5, MAGIC 106.7 and WROR 105.7.
  • Updating our radio station responsive-design websites on the WordPress platform
  • Providing SEO analysis and recommendations in coordination with elements and structure of station websites and web pages.  Providing diligent recommendations and executing strategies for content development in coordination with SEO goals, both general and keyword specific
  • Assisting in the development and execution of communication/content strategies via social communities in coordination with SEO goals.
  • Managing delivery of new digital product features, and unique marketing solutions for clients.
  • Assisting our Digital Project Manager on the everyday management of all digital resources, including internal project management systems, Open X Ad Server, and our Programmatic Advertising platform.

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED

Proficiency with the following:

  • Front-end development with HTML 5, CSS 3 & JavaScript
  • WordPress template development; WordPress back-end customization and extension
  • WordPress plugin / theme development / API, PHP, HTML, JavaScript and CSS
  • Experience in MySQL
  • Experience with cross browser compatibility testing
  • Proven LAMP stack DevOps skill set
  • Git source control concepts and methodologies
  • Adobe Photoshop and Google Analytics

QUALITIES WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • B.A. / B.S. with two to four years of proven coding experience and proficiency working in the WordPress content management system.
  • Passion and curiosity for digital media and interactive marketing and a deep understanding of how to create engaging content for station websites, client microsites, and social media.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills. You will work with diverse audiences while collaborating with internal and external partners.
  • Incredibly high attention to detail.  Errors, typos, misspellings, and inconsistencies really bug you.
  • Self-starter with strong analytic, strategic, creative thinking when developing and executing innovative programs
  • Possess a “figure out a way to make it happen” attitude when faced with a new request/challenge
  • Strong project management skills with proven abilities to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, collaborate across departments
  • Experience with Project Management applications such as Basecamp

Greater Media Boston is searching for a PC/Network Support Technician to join our team.

This position covers direct support delivered to users at our primary studio location as well as remote support as needed outside of normal business hours. Excellent communication skills, technical skills, analytical and time management skills are imperative for this role. Two years of experience providing IT support required. Great customer service and ability to complete tasks in timely manner a must.

Requirements and Responsibilities:

  • IT certifications such as A+ and MCP strongly preferred but not required
  • TCP/IP troubleshooting and configuration
  • Provide hardware and software support to clients using Windows and Apple devices
  • Cabling and physical installation experience a strong plus
  • Prepare workstations, printers, and other peripherals for deployment to end users
  • Multiple access point wireless network troubleshooting a strong plus
  • Knowledge of technology services software such as Track – It, Dameware and LMI
  • Dell/HP Server, SAN and VMware experience
  • Microsoft Server 2003 and newer, Microsoft Exchange and server systems
  • Radio Broadcast IT experience a strong plus
  • Work with networking team to troubleshoot or deploy switches, firewalls and routers
  • Work with server and application team to troubleshoot or deploy servers and applications
  • Properly prioritize support requests and escalate to network and server teams where required

Design Intern (Interactive Graphic Design student)

  • Create graphics for feature channels and content channels on our five station web sites.
  • Create banner ads and graphic design elements.
  • Design web pages and other projects, as needed.

Video Internship (Video Production student)

  • Video production and video editing for a variety of video projects, including coverage of live events, cyber remotes, video interviews and video podcasts for our five station web sites.
  • Work on special video projects, as needed.
  • Gain experience using a fully-equipped video streaming and live webcast studio.

The Internship Programs for Greater Media Boston and Greater Media Marketing Group are non-salaried positions which are designed to give students hands-on experience. The programs are available to college students, working for academic credit, who are able to work approximately 10-15 hours per week for twelve weeks. Interns are trained and supervised by the department managers of Greater Media Boston and GMMG. Interns must be resourceful and willing to initiate projects. Greater Media Boston stations, WBOS 92.9, WBQT HOT 96.9, WKLB 102.5, WROR 105.7 and WMJX 106.7, are seeking part time Street Team Members who are interested in learning more about event marketing and the fascinating world of Radio Broadcasting and Promotions. As part of the Street Team, you will work to gain exposure for the radio stations at station-produced and/or sponsored events, area concerts, sporting and cultural events and other on-site opportunities relevant to the station’s marketing and sales effort.Candidates must be detail oriented, creative and outgoing. They must have strong communications and organizational skills and must be able to represent the station(s) in a positive manner at events. Candidates should have strong people skills, web/internet knowledge, and must be able to multi-task and meet deadlines. All candidates should possess a desire to learn more about promotional/marketing strategies for radio. In order to be considered for the position, candidates must have a valid driver’s license and must be capable of loading the station vehicle in preparation for events. This position is limited to a 12 month employment period. *Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Set up, execution, and breakdown of station appearances,
  • Representation of the station in a positive manner,
  • Maintenance of station vehicle and prize inventory,
  • Interaction with clients at sales appearances,
  • Upholding appropriate station image at all events,
  • Communication with Promotion Coordinator before and after events,

The Internship Program for Greater Media Boston radio stations Radio 92.9 – WBOS-FM, HOT 96.9 Boston, Country 102.5WKLB-FM, 105.7 – WROR-FM and Magic 106.7 – WMJX-FM is a non-salaried position* which is designed to give students hands-on experience with the various aspects of major market radio stations.  The program is available to students, working for academic credit, who are able to work 10-15 hours per week for  approximately 10-12 weeks (or per your school’s requirements).  Interns are trained and supervised by the department manager for the particular station(s) you are assigned (i.e. Programming Promotions, IT/Engineering, Interactive, etc.).
