Key Responsibilities

  • Desktop Support Services (Windows XP/WIN 7, Mac OS X a plus)
  • Setup and troubleshoot hardware (laptops and desktops)
  • Application support (Vertical specific apps (will train) MS Office, etc.)
  • Installing and configuring software
  • Writing user friendly documentation
  • Networking Basics (switch and router experience a plus)
  • Administer licensing, including maintaining users, roles, and access rights

Desired Qualifications/Skills/Education:

Greater Media Boston is looking for TWO Sales Assistants.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Working directly with salespeople to develop PowerPoint proposals and promotional packages;
  • Typing copy, pitches and various other correspondence for sales staff;
  • Maintain sales media kits and support materials;
  • Daily client interaction, in addition to other administrative duties;
  • Attend department meetings and maintain minutes;
  • Perform all other duties assigned by the Local and General Sales Managers;
  • Position will interact with most departments of the radio station, with an emphasis on Sales, Promotions and Traffic.  Interaction will involve working with managers and salespeople, as well as clients (agency and direct).

Requirements:

  • Excellent organization and interpersonal skills;
  • The ability to juggle multiple tasks with excellent follow-through;
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Microsoft Photo Editor.

Education/Experience Level:

  • High school graduate;
  • At least two (2) years office experience;
  • Prior media industry experience a plus.

The Sales Promotion Project Coordinator is responsible for executing small and large scale promotions while managing and coordinating daily client and seller requirements.  You will manage from start to finish event marketing, consumer promotions, digital promotions and administrative responsibilities on behalf of our Business Development Dept.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning, managing, and coordinating  promotions through all facets of marketing including, but not limited to:
    • Idea development

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

Greater Media Boston seeks an enthusiastic and motivated Junior Developer to assist in all aspects of radio station websites and client driven microsites.  This includes design, development, and ensuring dynamic functionality with great UI in mind.

The Junior Developer is responsible for the development, implementation and support of the technical and functional infrastructure and applications for the location’s digital assets.

In collaboration with the Interactive team, marketing and sales, this position’s daily responsibilities include: graphic design, microsite creation, adding UI design and maintaining station websites.

Qualified candidates should be proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, HTML, CSS and JavaScript, and be able to work on their own AND in a team environment.  Knowledge of Visual Studio using VB.NET programming language and SQL Server a plus!

Web Content Intern (Journalism student)

  • Write and edit content for our five station web sites.
  • Create content feeds from syndicated news services.
  • Generate ideas for new content features.

Design Intern (Interactive Graphic Design student)

  • Create graphics for feature channels and content channels on our five station web sites.
  • Create banner ads and graphic design elements.
  • Design web pages and other projects, as needed.

Video Internship (Video Production student)

  • Video production and video editing for a variety of video projects, including coverage of live events, cyber remotes, video interviews and video podcasts for our five station web sites.

  • Gain experience using a fully-equipped video streaming and live webcast studio.

The Internship Programs for Greater Media Boston and Greater Media Marketing Group are non-salaried positions which are designed to give students hands-on experience. The programs are available to college students, working for academic credit, who are able to work approximately 10-15 hours per week for twelve weeks. Interns are trained and supervised by the department managers of Greater Media Boston and GMMG. Interns must be resourceful and willing to initiate projects. Greater Media Boston stations, WBOS 92.9, WBQT HOT 96.9, WKLB 102.5, WROR 105.7 and WMJX 106.7, are seeking part time Street Team Members who are interested in learning more about event marketing and the fascinating world of Radio Broadcasting and Promotions. As part of the Street Team, you will work to gain exposure for the radio stations at station-produced and/or sponsored events, area concerts, sporting and cultural events and other on-site opportunities relevant to the station’s marketing and sales effort.Candidates must be detail oriented, creative and outgoing. They must have strong communications and organizational skills and must be able to represent the station(s) in a positive manner at events. Candidates should have strong people skills, web/internet knowledge, and must be able to multi-task and meet deadlines. All candidates should possess a desire to learn more about promotional/marketing strategies for radio. In order to be considered for the position, candidates must have a valid driver’s license and must be capable of loading the station vehicle in preparation for events. This position is limited to a 12 month employment period. *Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Set up, execution, and breakdown of station appearances,
  • Representation of the station in a positive manner,
  • Maintenance of station vehicle and prize inventory,
  • Interaction with clients at sales appearances,
  • Upholding appropriate station image at all events,

Internship Program – WBOS-WBQT-WKLB-WMJX-WROR

The Internship Program for Greater Media Boston radio stations Radio 92.9 – WBOS-FM, HOT 96.9 Boston, Country 102.5WKLB-FM, 105.7 – WROR-FM and Magic 106.7 – WMJX-FM is a non-salaried position* which is designed to give students hands-on experience with the various aspects of major market radio stations.  The program is available to students, working for academic credit, who are able to work 10-15 hours per week for  approximately 10-12 weeks (or per your school’s requirements).  Interns are trained and supervised by the department manager for the particular station(s) you are assigned (i.e. Programming Promotions, IT/Engineering, Interactive, etc.).

Interns must be resourceful and willing to initiate projects.  Good communications skills and attention to detail are important.
