Board Op / Producer – Part-Time SPORTS1051

Be a part of the fastest growing sports station in the country. Greater Media Detroit is looking for a part-time Radio Board-Op/Producer. The part-time Radio Board-Op/ Producer is responsible for creating the radio program that reflects Detroit Sports 105.1 philosophy. They will participate in show development and production of audio and interactive content, as well as run the board for Detroit Pistons games, ESPN programming, live broadcasts and appearances, and as needed for other programming.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Focused operation of on-air console: air emergency alerts and commercials per program log; monitor and maintain remote broadcast connections on studio end; and report equipment problems;
  • Maintain accurate transmitter logs and program logs; update discrepancy reports and ensure transmitter is operating according to FCC parameters;
  • Daily coordination with host to decide the direction and content of the program;
  • Generate ideas and research topics of the program;
  • Research guests, arrange & oversee their visits, maintain up to date contact lists;
  • Serve as telephone call screener for talk programs;
  • Production work, including recording, editing, and posting in preparation for air play; record satellite feeds; communicate with show hosts on upcoming elements, and give time cues;
  • Manage and post the web content for the show, including guest information, pictures, links and support material; edit and post videos, podcasts, and interviews;
  • Post any blogs, articles or other written material related to the host or show; obtain necessary permissions for posts

Minimum Applicant Competencies Required:

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Possess a customer service attitude, toward host and listeners
  • Ability to work as part of a team, and also on own initiative
  • Good organizational and time management skills, ability to cope under pressure
  • Strong production skills including experience with Audio Vault & Adobe Audition
  • Experience with updating web content using Base Station or Pre-Flight

Minimum Applicant Qualifications Desired:
A minimum of one year experience in radio programming

The Local Sales Assistant helps with the efficiency of the sales operation by providing high-level administrative support to the Sales Managers and the Account Executives.  The Sales Assistant is integral to the success of the Sales Department.  If you enjoy working in a fast paced, team-oriented setting, this is the position for you!

  • Works with Traffic and Accounting to ensure smooth execution of sales orders, missing copy and notarizing of invoices.
  • Pulls invoices, spot placement, post and pre-logs and other AE/client back-up as necessary.
