Greater Media Boston announces Magic 106.7’s long-running public affairs program, Exceptional Women,is being recognized with two 2016 Gracie Awards from the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation. Named after the late vaudeville, radio and television comedienne, Gracie Allen, the Gracie Awards celebrate women who are making positive changes and who further the discussion of what a fulfilling career in media looks like.

Exceptional Women Co-hosts Sue Tabb and Tina Gao’s entry “What is Brave?” – a compilation of four of their 2015 programs – took first place in the Co-host and Interview Program or Feature categories for local radio. The piece explored different aspects of bravery and included interviews with tennis legend Billie Jean King, Entertainment Tonight Host Nancy O’Dell, recording artist and entrepreneur Lisa Loeb and animal champion Brittany Bang.

“We’re thrilled that Sue and Tina were once again recognized despite a record number of entries in this year’s competition,” said Mary Menna, Vice President and Market Manager of Greater Media Boston. “The awards underscore the show’s value and relevance as a nationally recognized platform for women who are making a difference. Sue and Tina are working to evolve the show to keep it fresh and shine an even brighter spotlight on the exceptional and inspiring women they feature.”

Tabb and Gao will receive their awards at the annual Gracies Luncheon in New York City on June 21. Exceptional Women airs Sunday mornings on WMJX-FM/ Magic 106.7 at 7:30am.
