Greater Media’s 97.5 The Fanatic has unveiled a brand new Midday Show featuring sports radio veteran Rob Ellis. The new show will start Tuesday, June 23rd and air from 10AM to 2PM, and will be co-hosted by 97.5 The Fanatic’s Harry Mayes.

In April of 2015, Ellis became one of the hosts of Breakfast on Broad on The Comcast Network, 6-8AM weekdays. He will continue to host Breakfast on Broad in addition to his new position with 97.5 The Fanatic.

Rob Ellis grew up in Upper Darby and attended Monsignor Bonner High School and Temple University. He worked at ESPN before starting with Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia, where he spent 14 years as a producer for Comcast SportsNet’s Daily News Live program, winning an Emmy in 2006.

In 2006 Ellis also began working at what was then Sports Radio 950 AM (now 97.5 The Fanatic), co-hosting a nightly show with Harry Mayes. The following year he joined 610 AM and served as a show host until 2015. He also was a sports anchor for CBS 3 from 2013-15.

“I grew up a die-hard Philly sports fan, listening to sports talk radio,” said Ellis. “It’s a life-long dream to be able to do it in Philadelphia on a station with a lineup like 97.5 The Fanatic.”

“We are thrilled to welcome Rob back to Greater Media Philadelphia,” said Senior VP Market Manager John Fullam. “He and Harry solidify 97.5 The Fanatic as the best sports talk lineup in Philly with Anthony Gargano in the morning and Mike Missanelli in the afternoon.”
