Country 102.5 FM Presents Kacey Musgraves and More At Free Festival

Outside The Box today announced Grammy award winner Kacey Musgraves, whose latest release Pageant Material is due to be released June 23, will headline the main stage at the festival on Friday, July 17, 2015.  She’ll be joined on the Boston Common by country music singer-songwriter Austin Webb, whose latest hit All Country on You is currently climbing the Billboard Country Airplay charts, and Cam, one of Nashville’s newest breakout performers, whose single My Mistake debuted this past spring. The show will be presented by Country 102.5 FM,

In addition to the Country 102.5 performances, Outside The Box also announced partnerships with Berklee College of Music and the New England Music Awards (NEMA).  Both organizations will help to curate performances over the duration of the festival.

The “Berklee Block” will feature performances from both students and professors from the Berklee College of Music. These performances will take place Wednesday through Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Park Street Stage.  The NEMA partnership will bring five performers to the festival, showcasing individuals or groups who have recently been nominated for or won a NEMA award.

Scheduled for July 14-19, 2015 on the Boston Common, Outside The Box is a six-day free performing arts festival, designed to entertain and inspire through performances from local, national and international arts organizations of all genres.  More than 80 performances have been lined up so far for this extraordinary artistic celebration.

The festival is the vision of Boston-based philanthropist and arts enthusiast Ted Cutler, who believes in the power of arts to educate and inspire creative thinking.  “The line-up for the festival continues to grow, exceeding my expectations,” said Cutler. “This showcase of the arts is designed to inspire, creating life-long arts enthusiasts.  I have no doubt that we are going to succeed.”

Today’s announcement is in addition to the performances previously announced, including the July 18 Radio 92.9 EarthFest, presented by Whole Foods Market and featuring performances from Guster, New Politics, Atlas Genius and Alex Preston.  On Thursday, July 16, the festival will feature a performance from The Gin Blossoms.

The festival will open on Tuesday, July 14 with a spectacular performance from the world-renowned Turkish dance group Fire of Anatolia, preceded by Inuksuit, a soundscape from composer John Luther Adams,  the Puppeteers Cooperative, the Boston Circus Guild, Emperor Norton’s Stationary Marching Band and a collaborative dance ensemble piece featuring eight local Boston dance companies.
