WDHA-FM’s 4th Annual Rock N’ Ruff Adoption Day
December 18, 2014
105.5 WDHA-FM celebrated its fourth annual Rock N’ Ruff Adoption Day and Pet Supply Drive on June 7 at the WDHA-FM studios in Cedar Knolls, NJ. The event supported nine local shelters that came to the studios to showcase some of their most adoptable pets to the WDHA-FM listeners.
Celebrities on hand included Daniel “the Beagle” Dwyer, a gas-chamber survivor, and rescue dog advocate Anne Marie Lucas, star of the hit TV show Animal Cops, as well as the rock band Adrenaline Mob, who performed an acoustic set live for the audience.
The event also featured the first-ever WDHA-FM Metallicat Booth as well as a cat trailer to keep the adoptable cats on-site cool. WDHA-FM topped it off by giving away many prizes, including tickets to WDHA-FM’s Rock the Rock with Aerosmith in September and a trip to Dog Camp, the Winery Dog’s fantasy band camp in July.
The event supports local animal shelters as well as WDHA-FM’s Rock N’ Ruff program. Created in the spring of 2010 by WDHA-FM Midday Host, Music Director and animal lover Terrie Carr, the feature has found homes for hundreds of homeless animals in New Jersey. Rock N’ Ruff is supported by a biweekly adoption web piece produced by Terrie and WDHA-FM, and is also constantly featured “on the road” at different pet events around New Jersey, including WDHA-FM and WMTR-AM’s Puptoberfest, which takes place each September.
The Rock N’ Ruff Adoption Day and Pet Supply Drive found homes for 25 animals and raised a record amount of supplies for the participating shelters in just three hours.
