The band Fuel packed the Headliner nightclub in Neptune, NJ, on May 2, as part of WRAT-FM’s Mayday celebration to benefit a local fire department.

Fuel did not disappoint the packed house of locals who attended the fundraiser to support the Belmar, NJ, Fire Department.

The Rat’s Morning Personality Gotts hosted the show, which included several local opening bands and a silent auction.

More than $12,000 was raised for the fire department, which will be used to provide current firefighters and new recruits with training in specialized emergency procedures for catastrophic events like Superstorm Sandy.

Prior to rocking the stage that night, The Rat’s Jimmy Steal welcomed Brett Scallions and Andy Andersson from Fuel to the Rat Studios, where they performed their latest single, “Soul to Preach To.”

Thanks to these down-to-earth rock bands and the fans who donated their time and money, members of the Belmar Fire Department, who spend countless hours serving and protecting their community, will now be one step closer to being prepared for anything that comes their way.
