Couric spoke about the importance of mutual support and personal growth, discussed her new position with Yahoo, showed her mom side with an update about her daughters, and even offered a quote from former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright: “There is a special place in hell for women who don’t help other women.”

Attendees, including business professionals, clients and station listeners, also had the chance to win 23 different raffle prizes, including a $1,000 gift certificate to Mealey’s Furniture, luxury spa and skin-care baskets, and an all-inclusive vacation for two to Punta Cana with all proceeds going to Katie Couric’s charity, The Jay Monahan Center for Gastrointestinal Health. Couric’s husband, Jay Monahan, died of colon cancer at age 42. In total, more than $3,000 was raised at yet another outstanding luncheon.
