WCSX, 101 WRIF, Today’s 105.1 Present Paws at the Hill

Join Greater Media Detroit radio stations (94.7 WCSX, 101 WRIF, Today’s 105.1) for PAWS AT THE HILL event on Saturday, July 27, 2013 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at Freedom Hill County Park in Sterling Heights, Michigan. Paws at the Hill will feature entertainment, adoptions, education, shopping, food and beverages.
Paws at the Hill will have hours of entertainment including Disc Dogs of Michigan High Flying Dog Show featuring World Champion Frisbee Dogs! The show will include high speed agility racing, world class high jumping, crowd participation, education and K-9 Star meet and greet. Michigan Search and Rescue is primarily a missing person’s response team. Their dogs are trained to trail the scent of a specific person from their last known location. Dogs are also trained to look for any human scent. Michigan Search and Rescue teams will demonstrate out their hounds put their senses to work.
Purina and Pet Supplies Plus present the Ultimate Air Dog competitions. This extreme sport gives your dog the chance to let loose and jump into a 30 foot pool. Dogs compete for distance and height. Pre-registration is suggested. Register your dog at www.ultimateairdogs.net.
Come meet Charlie Linblade, who has been a gun dog trainer for over 30 years. He is an avid water fowler and upland bird hunter in the United States and Canada. Charlie is often featured on TV shows including; Michigan Out of Doors, The American Bird Hunter, The Outdoorsman, North American Fish and Game, Outdoor America and Fox Sports. Come see live demonstrations on ‘Pointing dog on live quail’ with his English Setters. Plus there will be water fowl hunting demonstrations with his Chesapeake Bay Retrievers
Dog Agility is a fun team sport you and your dog can enjoy together. Come experience an off-leash agility course with jumps, tunnels, A-frames and the all new sport Treiball. Dogs can also run free or cool off in the Puppy Play Area.
Several location charities will be on-site with over 200 cats and dogs available for adoption. Local rescues include, Home Furever, K-9 Stray Rescue League, Canine Companions Rescue Center, Detroit Animal Welfare Group, Out on a Limb Cat Rescue, Last Day Dog Rescue, Tiger Lily Cat Rescue and Cat Tail Kitties.
There will be vendors on site to educate pet owners on pet nutrition, obedience training, pet care and grooming. Rest your paws inside the Bark Garden. Your dog can socialize with other dogs, while you kick back and relax while enjoying a nice cold beer.
The Paws on the Hill is FREE! Dogs must be on a leash and be current on vaccines. Rain or shine. ATM and food vendors on-site. Freedom Hill is located at 14900 Metropolitan Parkway in Sterling Heights.
