WBT’s Keith Larson’s Ride Supports Children’s Cancer Fund
April 26, 2013
Keith Larson’s eleventh motorcycle ride to help kids battling life-threatening illnesses and their families is this Saturday, April 27, 2013. Riders can sign up for this terrific annual police-escorted event and non-riders can make a contribution straight to the kids and families directly through the 501c3 fund. While we’re hoping for our biggest turnout ever of motorcycle riders, this year it’s also easier than ever for EVERYONE to help.
Keith’s Ride is escorted by the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office Motor Patrol and supported by several other law enforcement agencies. The Ride this year leaves Matthews Fun Machines at 10am April 27 for a cruise to beautiful Morrow Mountain near Albemarle, and then returns to MFM at 1:30pm for a barbecue and live music from regional favorites, “Harvest.”
The ride supports the March Forth with Hope Foundation (Hope Stout family foundation) and Zach Ramsey Children’s Cancer Fund, both started by the families of two amazing young people the Carolina’s met through Keith’s show. The Ride always reaches out to help a couple of kids and families directly as well and this year those kids are Harlan “The Hero” Sullins and Dylan Jacob.
Harlan is only two years old and bravely battling a brain tumor. His father is in the NC Air National Guard and has served five deployments to Afghanistan. Dylan is a bright, smart, football-loving 12-year old who was diagnosed with stage four Ewing’s Sarcoma. You can follow Harlan and Dylan through their Facebook and Caringbridge sites.
There are many tax-deductible levels riders can choose, and everyone can contribute by purchasing a lunch and t-shirt ticket or simply by clicking on “Make a Donation.” The basic cost for a Rider and passenger to enjoy the whole day including breakfast, lunch from Mac’s Speed Shop, t-shirts, etc., remains $50. Non-rider participants can make a secure donation on the registration page.
Pre-registration is open now until 12:00pm on April 26, 2013 at this link: http://www.wbt.com/keithsride. Day-of registration opens at 8:30 am. Great camera opportunities for Keith’s Ride at 10:00 am when riders depart and at 1:30 pm when riders return to Matthews Fun Machines
