Slash to MC WRIF’s Rocktoberfest

101 WRIF is proud to announce the 3rd Annual Rocktoberfest event, taking place Saturday, September 22, 2012 from 1p.m. – 11p.m. at Heritage Park in Taylor, Michigan.

Join Master of Ceremonies, Slash, as he kicks off the 3rd Annual WRIF Rocktoberfest. Guests of the event will get to experience a live interview with WRIF personalities and be a part of an open question and answer with the greatest guitarist of all time, Slash. Plus, all guests who arrive between 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. can register to win a chance to meet Slash and an autograph guitar. It’s recommended to arrive early to get a good seat; Slash is scheduled to appear at 2:30 p.m.

Rocktoberfest will be a celebration of the arrival of fall, featuring great food, Beer, a “Sports Den” to watch all your favorite sports and live music in the Biergarden throughout the day from The Polish Muslims to Rock Star. There will be a large variety of beers to choose from, including Bud Light, Budweiser, Becks Oktoberfest, Shock Top Pumpkin, Sparten Oktoberfest, Sierra Nevada Tumbler, Great Lakes Oktoberfest, Frankenmuth Oktoberfest, Goose Island Harvest, Pyramid Apricot and Pyramid Hefeweizen.

Guests can sign up for their limited edition Rocktoberfest Man Card, in the “Man Card Village”. There will be many free activities in the Man Card Village including free mechanical bull rides and strength tests on the high strike game. Plus, you can buy your official Rocktoberfest gear and beer steins.

At 4 p.m., cheer on your favorite ladies in “The Big Tug” a Tug–O-War competition between Downriver’s hottest bartenders, waitresses and spokes models! The winning team will receive a trophy and bragging rights, along with an appearance by WRIF at their bar.

At 5 p.m. Skydive Tecumseh will be making a special entrance, as they parachute 10,000 feet from an airplane and make a precision landing into the event field.

A $2 donation will be collected at the gate to benefit Penrickton Center for the Blind Children. Penrickton Center for Blind Children is a unique, private non-profit agency, providing five-day residential, day care, and consultation/evaluation services to blind, multi-disabled children ages 1-12. Participants of the WRIF Rocktoberfest will care for the kids at Penrickton Center for Blind Children by replacing the safety surface on our playground.
