Kid Rock Announces Unique Concert During WRIF Interview

February 29, 2012

Kid Rock stopped by the WRIF studios Monday to talk to Drew & Mike. Kid Rock announced that he will be doing a concert with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO) at the Fox Theatre on Saturday, May 12th, 2012.

Rock told Drew and Mike he received a late night phone call requesting him to play with the DSO to help them raise a million dollars. Rock said, “Yeah man, let’s do it. Cool.” The next day, he was reminded that he agreed to play with an orchestra. Rock joked, “Uh, that Jim Beam is good stuff.” Rock acknowledges that ticket prices are higher than his normal shows. “I think a lot of people will want to do it, because it’s a good thing for a cultural institution in Detroit,” Rock said. Drew reminded him this is a unique way to hear his music and believes the show will sell out.

Tickets go on sale this Saturday, March 3rd at 10a.m. at ticketmaster.com.
