Philly’s Top Chefs Reveal Their Comfortable Side at 4th Annual Comfort Food Fest

February 8, 2011

400 invited guests will sample comfort food creations made by the area’s top chefs as they compete for the 4th Annual John DeBella Golden Spoon Award.

What do the area’s top chefs make themselves when they are hanging around their house? What is THEIR comfort food? That’s the theme for 102.9 MGK Morning Host, John DeBella’s 4th Annual Comfort Food Fest.

Up to 12 of the area’s top chefs will be serving 400 invited guests their interpretation of comfort food at this free, invitation only event held on Wednesday, February 23rd from 6-8pm at Cescaphe’ Ballroom in the city’s Northern Liberties section.

Those interested in attending can register for an invitation by filling out a short registration form on wmgk.com.

The evening’s chefs will be rated by a panel of judges comprised of: The Inquirer’s Michael Klein, NBC 10′s Luann Cahn and food critic Beth D’Addono. The judges’ scores will be kept private, except for the chef that scores the highest. The highest scoring chef on the judges’ cards will be awarded the Golden Spoon Award.

Chefs from the following restaurants will be participating:

Anthony Goodwin – Butcher & Singer
Peter Woolsey – Bistrot La Minette
Justin Farina – Verdad
