WMMR-FM re-signs Pierre Robert to four year deal

January 14, 2011

Greater Media Philadelphia is pleased to announce that radio legend Pierre Robert has signed a new four-year contract, continuing his long and illustrious career on 93.3 FM-WMMR.

Robert, who later this year will celebrate an astounding 30 years on one radio station, will continue hosting his daytime show through December of 2014.

“In today’s media world of automated voice tracking and syndicated, out of market air talent, it’s a testament to Pierre Robert’s outstanding talent he has flourished at one station despite a period of flux elsewhere in the broadcasting business,” said Bill Weston, Program Director of WMMR-FM.

The new agreement ensures a beloved voice and celebrated interviewer remains on the air in Philadelphia.  His 2010 accomplishments include a private, live broadcast with Bon Jovi, countless interviews with artists that include Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Tom Petty, as well as his presence at every major concert event.  Robert’s impact in the community, with his substantial support of charitable organizations and causes, is also a hallmark of his success.

“I am thrilled to be connected to this magical frequency for 29 of the 42 years that ‘MMR has been connecting to our listeners and this wonderful community,” said Robert. “To know it will continue for another four years is true music to my ears!”
