GM Newspapers ready for 1st Day of Greater Good

January 13, 2011

For its first Day of Greater Good event, Greater Media Newspapers will send five employees to help out at the Sayreville Pet Adoption Center on February 17.

The Suburban newspaper that serves the Sayreville, NJ, area has worked with the shelter for years, publishing weekly photos and descriptions of dogs and cats who need permanent homes.

The director of the shelter, Barbara Keegan, was thrilled to get the call from human resources manager Linda Vinci and is excited about the visit.

Besides Linda Vinci, the employees who are scheduled to help with socializing with the animals and routine cleaning are News Editor Adele Young, Controller Kathy McBain, staff writer Sam Slaughter, and Production Department’s Diane Thompson. Teri Tumbleson in accounts payable will serve as an alternate in the event someone is unable to
attend. Editorial assistant/staff writer Amy Rosen will document the day with a video and write an article for the newspapers’ 10 weekly publications.

Greater Media Newspapers employees will also donate much-needed supplies to the no-kill shelter, such as food, treats, towels, and detergent.
