Philadelphia, PA (December 6, 2010): 93.3 WMMR / Philly’s 1st Rock Station put Philly 1st by presenting Preston and Steve’s 13th Annual Camp Out for Hunger.

For a week (Mon, 11/29 thru Fri, 12/3), WMMR’s #1 Morning Show, Preston & Steve, lived in the parking lot of the Metroplex Shopping Center in Plymouth Meeting, PA collecting food for Philabundance, broadcasting live each morning.

MMR listeners filled 20 tractor trailers with over 263 tons (527,285 lbs) of food, the largest amount collected in the event’s thirteen year run. The charitable members of the community also donated over $64,000.

J.P. Mascaro & Sons had this year’s largest donation from a business – with a donation of 123,700 pounds – scoring them a 4-hour live Preston & Steve broadcast. Last year’s largest business donator, Suburu of America, Inc., came in second with 119,988 pounds of food. For a second straight year, the group (non-business) with the largest donation is The Second Street Irish Society with a donation of 6,029 pounds – winning them a free skating party for up to 500 at the Blue Cross RiverRink.

All of the food will tremendously benefit Philabundance and the hungry people of the Delaware Valley, especially during the holidays.
