This morning after reading about Kim Kardashian’s $100,000 handbag shopping spree, 102.9 ‘MGK Morning Host John DeBella (weekdays 6a-9a) made an on-air plea to the famous brunette by asking for her help in his upcoming food drive, The 9th Annual John DeBella Turkey Drop.

“If you can drop $100,000 in one day on handbags…then you certainly have another $10,000 to help me feed the hungry,” DeBella commented during his radio show.

‘MGK’s morning man is currently in the process of contacting Kardashian to enlist her help in his annual effort to feed thousands of less fortunate people in the Philadelphia area. On Tuesday, November 23rd, DeBella will broadcast live and accept monetary and turkey donations during his 9th annual “John DeBella Turkey Drop.” Members of the ‘MGK airstaff will also be stationed at select Genuardi’s locations that day from 6am to 9am collecting donations. The John DeBella Turkey Drop is the largest one-day food gathering event in Philadelphia. This and every year, the Turkey Drop will benefit City Team Ministries Philadelphia, an organization that provides food and services to less fortunate individuals, families, shelters and food groups in the tri-state.

Reality star Kendra Wilkinson has already expressed interest in assisting DeBella with this year’s Turkey Drop.

While sizeable donations, such as the requested ten thousand dollar contribution from Ms. Kardashian, are extremely helpful, it’s the turkey donations and the $5, $10 and $20 dollar donations from thousands of WMGK listeners across the tri-state area that make the DeBella Turkey Drop the huge success it is each year. Listeners will be able to make online donations via WMGK’s secure online donation page in the coming weeks. To make donations and obtain more information about City Team Ministries, go to
