WMGK-FM Program Director Charley Lake Named PD at BEN-FM in Philadelphia

Greater Media Philadelphia announces WMGK-FM Program Director Charley Lake has been officially named as the new Program Director of WBEN-FM. The programming veteran will now oversee both stations. Lake has been serving as the interim PD at BEN-FM since June 2010.

“We feel extremely fortunate to have one of the best programmers in the business in Charley Lake,” said John Fullam, Vice President and Market Manager of Greater Media Philadelphia. “It is a truly a privilege to have him lead the WMGK and now BEN-FM teams into the future.”

“As if coming to work every day at WMGK isn’t enough fun, I now get to work with yet another great team at BEN,” said Lake. “I’m grateful to John Fullam and my family at Greater Media for this fantastic opportunity.”

Prior to joining WMGK-FM in January 2009, Lake served as the Program Director of KOOL-FM in Phoenix, AZ, programmed Oldies station WJMK-FM in Chicago and spent seven years working in the “classic rock” format at WRNO-FM in New Orleans and WLVQ-FM in Columbus, Ohio.

Lake has also received numerous radio programming and music business related awards over the years.

He replaces John Cook, who exited in June 2010.
