July 12, 2010

Greater Media announces yet another Veteran Motor City on-air personality will be returning to the airwaves at Magic 105.1/WMGC-FM in Detroit: Kevin O’Neill. He can be heard from 7pm-Midnight, Monday thru Friday, beginning on Monday, July 12, and substituting for afternoon host Chris Edmonds Monday July 5th through Friday July 9th.

Kevin celebrated his 30 year anniversary this year as a Motor City radio mainstay.  He most recently hosted mornings at WNIC-FM, after stints in his lengthy career at diverse stations in the Detroit market as WDVD-FM, WOMC-FM and WKQI-FM.

“Finally, our Magic Family is complete.” said Magic 105.1 FM Program Director Lori Bennett. “Each one of our personalities on Magic shares a common bond: they all have been living and working in Detroit for 15 years or more!  No one knows Detroit listeners better. Kevin rounds out a stellar lineup: Jim Harper and the Magic Morning Show, Mitzi Miles, and Chris Edmonds weekdays, along with Jim Paolucci, Sandy Kovach, Mike Bradley and Tracy Gary weekends.”

“It’s such a thrill to be a part of a heritage radio station like Magic 105.1” said O’Neill. “Having the chance to work with people I’ve known or have listened to over the years is the icing on the cake.”

Kevin is the proud parent of one son, Brendan, who lives and works in Chicago.  In his spare time, Kevin enjoys playing bass guitar, collecting vintage vinyl and has appeared at Mark Ridley’s Comedy Castle as a performer.
