Classic Rock 102.9 WMGK will be honoring veterans of military service from Joint Base McGuire Dix Lakehurst and Veterans from Camden County, NJ on stage at the 10th Annual “Let Freedom Rock Fest” at Cooper River Park in Pennsauken, NJ. The event will feature a performance by headliner Paul Rodgers. Fireworks will follow.

The 10th Annual Let Freedom Rock Fest will offer attendees more than a day and evening full of fun, live music and a spectacular fireworks display. Concert goers will have the chance to thank and applaud military members who are veterans of service in Iraq/Afghanistan stationed at Joint Base McGuire Dix Lakehurst as well as Veterans from Camden County (the county where the concert is being held). The military members and veterans will get on stage and help MGK morning host, John DeBella, recite the “Pledge of Allegiance” at approximately 5:30pm.

In addition to applauding, those at the event will also be able to show the men and women in our country’s armed forces a gesture of support by signing a banner that will be on-site that day. The “Support Banner” will read: “PA, NJ + DeBellaware Thank + Support Our Troops.” It will be stationed at a tent occupied by staff members from the USO. The station’s goal is to have each one of the tens of thousands attending the event sign or write a message on the banner. After the event, the USO will place the banner at a facility in the tri-state area where troops arriving and departing from/for Iraq and Afghanistan can see it.

This year’s Let Freedom Rock Fest, produced in conjunction with Camden County and the Camden County Board of Freeholders, features Paul Rodgers, the voice of Bad Company, Free and The Firm. Rodgers will play a 90 minute set. There will be a 25-minute fireworks display provided by Pennsauken Township, set to Classic Rock music, following Rodgers’ performance. MGK “House Band”, Dog Bite Money, will kick off the stage action at 6pm. A comprehensive schedule of events and activities will appear on in the coming days. There is free parking available close to Cooper River Park.
