101 WRIF’s 12th Annual Motor City Harley Davidson HarleyFest to be in Northville

April 28, 2010

101 WRIF is proud to announce the 12th Annual Motor City Harley Davidson® Harleyfest, happening Saturday, June 19th at a brand new location – Northville Community Park located in Northville Township at 5 Mile and Beck Road.
HarleyFest is an annual day-long event that brings together Harley-Davidson® motorcycle enthusiasts from throughout the state of Michigan to celebrate great music, food and motorcycles!  Both bikers and non-bikers are always welcome to attend!

Admission to the festival at Northville Community Park is free and will feature live music from some of Detroit’s favorite local bands.  In addition, there will be a vendor village featuring everything from clothes and jewelry to airbrush artists, plus lots of delicious food and drink, live auctions featuring autographed memorabilia, a day-long live broadcast by WRIF and so much more!  Gates will officially open at 11am to the park and there is a $10 fee for parking.

“Northville Township is excited to have been chosen as the host site for the 2010 Motor City Harleyfest Event.  We know that the event will attract new visitors to our community and look forward to working with the event promoters on producing a first class festival that showcases our park system,” said Traci Sincock, Director of Northville Parks & Recreation.

In addition to the festival, there is an annual ride on the morning of the event, which will depart from Motor City Harley-Davidson®, located at 34900 Grand River Avenue in Farmington Hills, taking a scenic route to the event at Northville Community Park.  Sign-up for the ride will begin at 9am.  Riders are asked to pay $20 per person to participate in the ride, which provides them with a special Rainbow Connection collector’s pin, parking fees for HarleyFest and a donation to The Rainbow Connection.  For more information on the ride call Motor City Harley-Davidson® at (248) 473-7433.

One of the highlights of the annual event is the big HarleyFest Grand Prize Giveaway. Previously qualified WRIF winners will gather on site at the event to see who will drive away with a brand new 2010 Harley Davidson motorcycle!  WRIF will be qualifying listeners to win keys for this exciting giveaway on-air and at HarleyFest parties throughout Metro Detroit beginning May 8th at Motor City Harley-Davidson.  A portion of the proceeds from this year’s event will benefit the Rainbow Connection. Over the past 11 years, HarleyFest has helped bring in over $350,000 for various charities, including the Muscular Dystrophy Association and Karmanos Cancer Institute.   For more information on The Rainbow Connection, go to www.rainbowwishconnection.org.
