Pierre Robert Sits Down with Rolling Stones Hosts Nationwide Radio Special

April 27, 2010

93.3 WMMR’s Pierre Robert will host a live radio special, with The Rolling Stones’ Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Charlie Watts, to celebrate the re-release of their landmark album, Exile on Main Street. It will air Monday, May 17th, 10pm EST, on WMMR and dozens of stations across the country.  It will be streamed simultaneously on wmmr.com. Pierre’s interviews, arranged thru FMQB Productions, marks the first time since the album’s release more than three decades ago that the trio will talk about the creation of one of the most defining albums of The Rolling Stones‘ catalogue. The re-release includes 10 never-before-heard tracks and hits stores May 18th.

For Robert, the Rolling Stones special comes on the heels of a trip to Seattle where, at the request of Pearl Jam’s management, he conducted interviews for a documentary on the Seattle grunge scene.  “This was the brainchild of (Pearl Jam guitarist) Stone Gossard,” explained Robert. “The idea was to tell part of the Seattle story and explain the family tree.”  Robert’s Seattle trip was capped with a secret performance from Soundgarden, their first after a 13-year hiatus. Robert filed live reports for WMMR’s listeners.

Robert’s interview trifecta began just a few weeks prior, on-stage at the Wachovia Center with Bon Jovi, hosting a private Q&A and live concert broadcast on WMMR.

After more than 25 years at WMMR, including the busy, but inspirational, last two months, Robert is proud to admit, “It’s only Rock’n Roll but, after all this time, I still LOVE it!”
